Apple's FineWoven cases, the eco-friendly alternative to leather for the iPhone 15, may not be completely off the production lines yet. Although they have not been particularly popular among consumers, a new leak suggests that Apple might roll out one last set of seasonal colors for these cases.

The rumor, reignited by the leaker Kosutami—who previously announced the discontinuation of these cases—suggests that despite the previous setbacks, Apple could be planning a final release to exhaust already committed resources. Kosutami, however, has not commented on whether new FineWoven bands for the Apple Watch will also be introduced.

Introduced eight months ago, the FineWoven cases were initially launched as a sustainable substitute to traditional leather cases. However, they quickly gained a reputation for poor durability and resistance to stains, leading to underwhelming sales figures.

This potential last batch of cases likely won't be compatible with the upcoming iPhone 16, indicating that this could indeed be the end of the road for FineWoven. While Apple has not confirmed these plans, and the source of the leak remains unverified, fans of the brand might still have something to look forward to before the case line possibly disappears for good.
